Read: from a draw whose pool sat in that band of the game's own history, the median number of draws until the jackpot was won (counting that draw), and how often it was won that very draw. Pool size never changes your odds — a big pool is worth more, not easier to win. Unfinished rollovers at the end of the data are excluded, which slightly understates survival at the high end.
When jackpots actually get won
Every rollover ends the same way — somebody's ticket matches. These are the conditions at that moment: how big the pool was, ranked inside that game's own history, and how many draws it had rolled over first.
Magnum 4D: the median jackpot went at the 65th percentile of its own pool history, after 12 rollovers.
| Game | Wins seen | Pool percentile at the win | Median pool won | Rollovers first | Someone wins tonight: bottom half → top 10% | p |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Magnum 4D | 82 | 65th (IQR 47–85) | RM 11,852,352 | 12 | 3.7% → 13.8% | 5.3e-5 |
| Sports Toto | 81 | 64th (IQR 44–91) | RM 10,873,645 | 9 | 4.9% → 20.8% | 1.9e-6 |
| Da Ma Cai | 68 | 65th (IQR 34–84) | RM 11,854,342 | 12 | 4.4% → 11.7% | 0.0107 |
| Supreme Toto 6/58 | 17 | 81st (IQR 67–97) | RM 33,908,264 | 68 | 0.3% → 4.8% | too few wins |

| Da Ma Cai 3+3D | 8 | 44th (IQR 27–91) | RM 1,071,147 | 79 | 0.8% → 1.7% | too few wins |
| Sabah Lotto 6/45 | 5 | 68th (IQR 62–83) | RM 930,946 | 163 | 0.0% → 0.9% | too few wins |
Read that percentile column carefully. A pool only ever climbs until it is taken, so every rollover ENDS at its own biggest reading. Wins landing high is arithmetic, not luck — it is not evidence that a big pool is easier to win. The interesting part is how far from the top the median actually sits.
The honest column is the second-to-last: out of every draw whose pool sat in that band, how many were won that night. Where it climbs with the pool, the cause is other people buying more tickets — more tickets cover more of the combination space, so SOMEBODY is likelier to be holding the winner. Your own ticket's chance is fixed by the rules of the game and does not move at any pool size. A bigger pool changes what a win is worth, never how likely yours is.
The p-value tests whether the per-draw win rate is the same in every pool band, against a Bonferroni threshold of 0.0063 for the 8 games listed. Treat it as a screen for a large effect, not a precise significance claim: draws inside one rollover are not independent trials.
Censoring, stated: a rollover still running when the data ends has not been won, so it contributes no win event and its length is left out — which pulls the published rollover medians down. The first win of each series has no visible previous reset, so its rollover count is dropped as well. And a jackpot taken twice in a row at the base pool leaves no drop for the detector to see, which would shorten these medians further.
