What is 4D Jackpot, and why does the prize keep growing?

Classic 4D pays fixed dividends — RM2,500 per RM1 on a Big 1st prize, every time. Jackpot games are the opposite: the prize is a pool that grows every draw nobody wins it. That's why you'll see a Magnum 4D Jackpot worth a few million ringgit one month and over thirty million a few months later.

How a 4D jackpot bet works

In Magnum 4D Jackpot, Toto 4D Jackpot and Da Ma Cai's 1+3D Jackpot, you don't pick one number — you pick a pair of 4D numbers on one RM2 ticket. Your pair is matched against the draw's 23 winning numbers:

OutcomeWhat you win
Both numbers hit top-3 prizesJackpot 1 (the headline pool)
One number hits top-3 + one hits SpecialJackpot 2 (smaller pool)
One number hits top-3 onlyFixed consolation-level prizes
Lesser combinationsSmall fixed prizes

Simplified structure — each operator publishes its exact prize groups. Jackpot 1 requires the rarest combination, which is why it snowballs.

When nobody hits a jackpot tier, a portion of that draw's sales rolls into the pool for the next draw — the “snowball”. When someone finally wins, the pool resets to its seed amount and starts climbing again. Multiple winners in the same draw share the pool: our records include a RM34.5 million Magnum jackpot split across 377 winning shares.

Jackpot 1 vs Jackpot 2

Nearly every Malaysian jackpot game runs two pools. Jackpot 1 is the headline figure that requires the hardest combination. Jackpot 2 is won more often, so it stays smaller — typically hundreds of thousands rather than tens of millions. Both are shown per game on our jackpot tracker, with history charts so you can see each pool's climb and reset.

The lotto-style games grow even bigger

Sports Toto's lotto games (Star Toto 6/50, Power Toto 6/55, Supreme Toto 6/58) snowball the same way but with longer odds — Supreme Toto 6/58 has reached over RM121 million in our tracked history, and single-winner prizes of RM78.5 million have been recorded. Sabah 88's Lotto games and Magnum Jackpot Gold follow the same pool mechanics.

Pool figures shown on operator sites (and our tracker) are estimates updated per draw. A growing jackpot doesn't change your odds — it only changes the payout if the rare combination lands. Play for entertainment, not as a plan.
