Malaysia's regular 4D draws are fixed — every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. On top of those, the government approves a limited number of special draws each year, held on Tuesdays, usually around festive periods. All the Peninsular operators (Magnum, Sports Toto, Da Ma Cai) and the East Malaysia operators draw on the same special-draw dates.

How the schedule is decided
Special draw days are approved by the Ministry of Finance and announced through the operators — a handful per year in recent years (down sharply from the low twenties before the 2019–2020 budget cuts). There's no fixed pattern beyond “Tuesday, near a festival” — Chinese New Year, mid-year, Merdeka, Deepavali and year-end are the usual anchors.
Anything different about a special draw?
No — game rules, prize structure and result format are identical to a regular draw; it's simply an extra drawing day. (One quirk: extra draw days create extra chances for oddities — the only number ever to win 1st prize two days in a row did it via a Tuesday special draw followed by the regular Wednesday draw.)
